Courtney King Files for Arkansas House District 25, Launches ‘Homegrown Hope’ Grassroots Campaign
Little Rock, AR — Courtney King, a community advocate, artist, and founder of the nonprofit NatureSTEAM, officially filed her paperwork to run for Arkansas House District 25 in Little Rock on Monday, November 3. King qualified for the ballot after gathering approximately 200 signatures from district residents, allowing her to waive the $700 filing fee required of candidates.
“This campaign is already about people power, rooted in Arkansas values,” said King. “Neighbors, friends, and volunteers came together to make this possible. That’s exactly the kind of energy I want to bring to the State Capitol.”
A proud native Arkansan raised in the River Valley and now rooted in Northwest Arkansas, King is a non-traditional senior at the University of Arkansas Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, completing a degree in Studio Arts. Her work as an Art Therapy Practitioner and community educator has centered on the connection between creativity, healing, and civic engagement. King’s nonprofit, NatureSTEAM,blends science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through nature-based learning.
Running as an independent voice for the people, King says her campaign will focus on inclusive
representation, creative problem-solving, and sustainable community growth.
“This isn’t just my campaign—it’s our campaign,” said King. “Homegrown Hope is about neighbors lifting each other up and building something lasting together.”
